Derby Airfield is one of the
newest airfields in the UK, the only one in Derbyshire.
Built to replace Burnaston
Airfield which was lost in 1990.
Planning permission for this
site, which was farmland, took considerable effort and vast sums of money
to obtain, allowing us to operate with very few conditions - however please
DO NOT make it difficult for us by overflying the local villages, upsetting
our neighbours and causing hassle which we could do without. Please call
for PPR (as per UKAIP) and stick to the recommended circuit patterns (See
above). These procedures also allow trouble free operation with East Midland's
airspace in our vicinity.
Bad flying spoils it for everyone
- so please don't!!!
Also note the runway distances
- check before setting out that you and your aircraft is capable of safe
operation from our airfield.
Remember PPR by telephone
before departure is essential for up-to-date airfield information and
so we can give you a verbal briefing about our noise abatement (good neighbour)
policy.
Thank you for complying and
we hope you will enjoy our wonderful little airfield.
